Mayor Raes appointed Carol Triebel as 3rd Ward Alderman to fill the vacancy created by Janet Bender. Alderman Triebel was sworn in on January 6, 2015, and her term will expire at the end of April 2015. Alderman Triebel supports neighborhood revitalization, business development and fiscal responsibility. She currently serves as Governor of the Midwest District of Pilot International and as a member of the Pilot Club of Moline. She serves as a director of Rebuilding Together of the Quad Cites and as a trustee on the Unity of the Quad Cities Board of Trustees.
Alderman Triebel is a graduate of Alleman High School, Rock Island, Illinois. She received a Masters of Business Administration from St. Ambrose University. She is retired from the City of Rock Island where she working in the Planning Division as Housing Program Officer. She worked previously at St. Ambrose University and First Federal Savings and Loan Association in Moline. Alderman Triebel has two grown daughters and two grandchildren who live in Peoria, IL. Her son-in-law is a member of the Peoria County Board. She is recently employed at Pound and Inch Fabric and Sewing Store that opened in Moline in late 2014. She enjoys tap dancing, quilting, reading, crossword puzzles, and spending time with family and friends.
