Moline residents – and indeed, anyone interested in what is happening in city government here – are now able to track progress on all 85 of Moline’s adopted strategic goals identified for completion over the next three years.
An online Strategic Action Plan Dashboard is now live on the City of Moline Website, providing full transparency and real-time updates on more than six dozen active projects and programs across every city department. Anyone can see exactly how the city’s $27 million in budget dollars are being spent and what progress has been made on funded projects.
Each of the 85 goals is accompanied by a progress report – summed up visually by either a green light (on track), red light (not started/on hold), yellow light (behind schedule) or Moline blue light (complete) – that will be updated by staff quarterly.
“The Administration will collaborate with each Department to ensure that programs and projects are started on schedule, reported on quarterly, completed on time, and delivered within budget,” said City Administrator Bob Vitas. “The quarterly action plan reports will further enhance transparency and accountability to not only the City Council but also residents, business and other stakeholders invested in Moline.”
The 85 strategic action plan goals are divided into three categories, or “pillars” – Infrastructure, Quality of Place and Economy. Vitas said having a publicly accessible action plan ensures that Moline taxpayers have a fully transparent look at how their dollars are spent and the progress being made bringing them from plan to reality.
“This plan brings to life all the projects Council and staff have identified as necessary to improve the quality of life and economic strength of the city,” Vitas said. “This will allow anyone to see the work being done to make Moline an even better place to live, work and play.”
Among the major projects and programs in the plan – but far from the only ones – are:
- Launch of the Riverside Park Pool Improvement Project.
- Procurement of city-wide broadband installation.
- Establishment of a one-stop shop for city services.
- Establishment of a multi-jurisdictional land bank program.
- Completion of a multi-jurisdictional public safety radio upgrade project.
- Adoption of a form based zoning code.
