[ARCHIVED] Liquor Ordinance Amendment - Definition of Minor

On October 10, 2017, the Moline City Council approved an ordinance to amend the age that a “minor” may serve or sell alcohol within a liquor licensed establishment in Moline.   Prior to adoption of this ordinance, a minor was defined as any person under the age of 21, and no person under the age of 21 could tend bar or pour, draw, mix, sell or serve alcoholic beverages at a liquor licensed establishment.  The newly adopted ordinance changed the definition of minor and allows any person 18 years and older to perform these tasks (tend bar or pour, draw, mix, sell or serve alcoholic beverages) while acting within his/her employment at a liquor licensed establishment.  This change does not apply to customers; for customers, the age of a minor remains as any person under the age of 21.  To view the ordinance text in full, see Council Bill/General Ordinance No. 3026-2017.
