Alderman Moyer was born and raised in Moline. Sam has been a resident of Ward 5 since 2004 and was elected to the Council in April, 2019. His current term will expire in May, 2023.

Alderman Moyer supports fiscal responsibility and great customer service and amenities, parks and bike/pedestrian paths in particular. Alderman Moyer is focused on creating opportunities for business development and working to make Moline the best city to live in in the Midwest.
Involvement
Sam is a longtime little league baseball coach and scout leader. Sam is a member of First Evangelical Free Church and the Moline Rotary Club. He is a past Moline Housing Authority Commissioner and currently serves on the Project Management Team, the Public Art Steering Committee, and Western Illinois University QC’s Planning & Advisory Committee.
Education
Alderman Moyer is a graduate of Augustana College (History, Business Admin), and has Master Degrees in both Business and Public Administration from St. Mary’s University, San Antonio. Sam served in the U.S. Air Force as a Telecommunication Systems Tech in Texas and England. Sam is self-employed as a marketing and fundraising consultant.
Family & Free Time
Sam and his wife Jennifer have four sons, a daughter, and a grandson. He spends his free time coaching & watching his kids baseball and basketball teams, running, reading, and writing.
