MOLINE PARKS AND RECREATION CHOOSES NEW NAME FOR UPDATED SWIMMING POOL

MOLINE, IL – Thursday, November 30, 2023 – To celebrate the 6.8 million dollars’ worth of upgrades and improvements to the once named Riverside Family Aquatic Center, the Moline Parks and Recreation Department has officially renamed their public swimming pool, Riverside Riverslide – a name that is very familiar to locals and former pool users.

Moline Parks and Recreation made the exciting announcement about the facility enhancements in February 2023 and held a ground-breaking ceremony in April 2023. As of November 30, 2023, the construction is still on schedule for a reopening date of May 2024. The project includes many updates and new features including three new water slides, a lazy river, splash pad, new shade structures, updated concessions, nighttime lights, a shared park shelter and family restrooms.

The partnership between Moline Parks and Recreation and Two Rivers YMCA will continue when the new facility opens in 2024. Two Rivers YMCA members will have full access to the improved Riverside Riverslide as part of their membership, with no additional cost.

Groundbreaking Ceremony - Monday, April 10, 2023.

On Monday, April 10, 2023 the official Groundbreaking Ceremony for the new and improved Riverside Family Aquatic Center took place to mark the start of construction.

The City of Moline Parks and Recreation Department is excited to begin the $6,825,300 project that will include many updates and improvements including three new water slides, a lazy river, splash pad, new shade structures, updated concessions, nighttime lights, a shared park shelter, and family restrooms.

EXCITING RIVERSIDE FAMILY AQUATIC CENTER UPDATES COMING SOON!

MOLINE, IL – Thursday, March 23, 2023 – The City of Moline Parks and Recreation Department invites you to join us for the groundbreaking ceremony for Riverside Family Aquatic Center on Monday, April 10 at 3:30 p.m. The ceremony will take place at the current Riverside Family Aquatic Center located at 3300 5th Avenue, Moline.

To prepare for the exciting updates and due to construction, starting this spring and taking place throughout the summer months, Riverside Family Aquatic Center will not open for the 2023 season. The groundbreaking ceremony will take place in early spring, official date TBD.
 
The Moline Parks and Recreation Department and Two Rivers YMCA are excited to continue the partnership that began at the beginning of the 2022 season. Two Rivers YMCA members will have full access to the improved Riverside Family Aquatic Center in 2024, as part of their membership, with no additional cost.
