The City of Moline is saying thank you to the many
volunteers who are helping to make Moline a better
place. Family members of all Neighborhood Group
Associations, Adopt-A-Street, Adopt-A-Park, Crime
Stoppers, Keep Moline Beautiful, and Neighborhood Watch
volunteers are invited to attend a Volunteer
Appreciation Picnic on Saturday, June 26, from 11 – 1
pm, at Browning Park, 15th Street & 22nd Avenue.
Volunteers and their families will enjoy an afternoon of
food and fun, and will be presented with a Certificate
of Appreciation. The appreciation picnic is sponsored by
the City of Moline Neighborhood Partnership Committee.
This is the fifth annual appreciation picnic that Moline
has hosted.
“Our volunteers can’t be commended enough for what they
do for the community,” said Brad Hauman, Moline’s
Neighborhood Improvement Officer. “The volunteer picnic
is just a small way to say thank you. These volunteers’
extraordinary efforts are essential in making the City
of Moline a better place to live, work and play.”
Currently, the City of Moline has five established
neighborhood associations. These associations have held
neighborhood clean-ups days, planted flowers and trees,
enhanced neighborhood parks, improved sidewalks,
installed motion lights in alleys, installed
neighborhood signs, and launched neighborhood
newsletters.
The Adopt-A-Street program has 12 volunteer groups who
work throughout the year to keep Moline streets litter
free. The Adopt-A-Park program has 16 volunteer groups
whose efforts enhance and improve Moline’s neighborhood
parks. Volunteers for both Adopt-A-Street and
Adopt-A-Park include organizations, associations,
families and individuals.
