Yard Waste Collection Begins April 1st

Warmer weather has prompted residents to begin sprucing up yards for spring. In compliance with City ordinance, yard waste collection will begin on Wednesday, April 1st and will continue through December 15th.

Moline residents may dispose of leaves and grass clippings by placing them in paper bags with a Moline sticker attached. Residents should place bags at least three feet from their garbage cart. Yard waste stickers may be purchased for $2.00 at most hardware and grocery stores in Moline and at City Hall East Annex, 1616 – 6th Avenue. Yard waste will be collected on the same day as regular refuse collection.

Brush trimmings or tree limbs are to be tied in bundles less than four feet long and less than 12 inches in diameter, and are picked up in the same manner as bagged lawn waste. Unbundled and larger piles require prepayment of a $85 fee to the Finance Office, 1616 – 6th Avenue, or pay by phone using a credit card at 309-797-0481.
