I-74 Bridge Lane Closure

Due to high winds the week of March 9th, the following work has been rescheduled to start Thursday, March 19th.  The Illinois Department of Transportation announces that, weather permitting, construction work on I-74 near the Mississippi River bridge will begin on Monday, March 19.  GFS Fence, Guardrail & Signage Co., will be replacing the sign trusses over I-74.

The project will be completed at night with work beginning at 8 pm in the evening and all lanes open to traffic by 6 am the next morning.  The work is expected to be completed in three nights.

Traffic on I-74 will be restricted to one lane each night. The Bettendorf on-ramp for traffic from State Street entering I-74 to go to Illinois will be closed all three nights.  The exit ramp to 3rd Avenue in Moline will be closed on Monday night and the 7th Avenue exit ramp will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.  

Motorists are reminded to slow down and drive carefully through all construction zones.
