Sylvan Island
Access to Sylvan Island via the Sylvan Bridge is currently closed until further notice. It is hoped that the bridge will reopen in the near future, but a timeline has not been established.

Sylvan Island Bridge Inspection Report

Sylvan Island is an abandoned industrial site that is approximately 35 acres in the Mississippi River / Sylvan Slough. It is located at 1st Avenue and 2nd Street. Water access is located on the island. Public restrooms, water, and parking are located at Sylvan Gateway Park at the entrance to the island.

Amenities include:
  • Mountain biking trails
  • Scenic overlooks
  • Walking / hiking trails

Sylvan Island is the location for the Annual Sylvan Island Stampede hosted by Friends of Off Road Cycling each April.

Greenvalley Nature Preserve / Old Greenvalley
The Greenvalley Nature Preserve / Old Greenvalley area is approximately 250 acres. It is located at 48th through 60th Street and 52nd Avenue and 55th Avenue and 48th Street.
