GIS/Mapping

Responsibilities
The City of Moline GIS Department is responsible for:

Training GIS users
Providing technical support for all GIS users
Creating and maintaining GIS data layers
Maintaining the enterprise SDE geodatabase
Creating and printing maps / geographical reports

Who Uses GIS
Almost all departments use and implement GIS in their workflows. Employees within the Water, WPC (Water Pollution Control), Storm Water, Engineering, Streets, Parks, Law, and Planning departments use ESRI ArcGIS software for asset management or other purposes.

Current and Future GIS Projects
Currently, the GIS department is deploying and critiquing custom web maps utilizing ESRI’s ArcGIS Viewer for Flex. Most of our internal and external web mapping applications have been rebuilt with this powerful technology.
Other projects include:
-Mobile web mapping application development for internal users.
-Work order management integration through Lucity Web and web maps.
