The O'Rourke Building, a six-story warehouse located on a1.28 acre parcel at 12th Street and 4th Avenue, was renovated in part by a $10 million in federal TIGER II grant funds received by the City of Moline and administered through MetroLINK, for the construction of the Multi-Modal Station for Amtrak service. Through a public and private partnership, the City of Moline and Moline Promenade Investors, LLC redeveloped the O'Rourke Buildinginto an extended stay Element Westin hotel and The Q, a future Amtrak train station which will have rail service from Moline to Chicago.
The Element Westin hotel is the first Element Westin in the state of Illinois. It opened its doors February 2018. Local retail and restaurant establishments are expected to soon occupy available spaces within the building.
